I received a message from someone by the name of Patrick stating that we are
sharing the same user name http://www.velocityreviews.com/forums/(E-Mail Removed). I would like to change my
username to pjwhaley3 if it is not in use. Apparently, my mail has been
going to him. Please advise.

Ohhhhhh, this is so tempting

Whaley,
You just asked an Internet discussion group to do something it can't
do. This is not your Internet Provider's private help desk. It is a
worldwide forum for problems and solutions to them, with a fairly high
level of bickering and name calling tossed in for good measure.

Now that you have posted pwhaley@..... to the Internet, it's a pretty
good bet that no one will want that username anymore, because it will
be flooded with spam.

Please call your internet service provider about changing your name.
Even though they may have pointed you here for service, they are still
obligated to actually provide some measure of support on their own.
Start here if you don't have a number.

How was the original name user able to mail you if you both share the same
address?

As noted; that mail came to *you*, right? At *that address*?
ISP's don't hand out the same address to different people. Whomever
contacted you was either a kook, or somebody checking for valid
addresses to harvest and sell.
In any eventuality; you may as well contact your ISP and change it,
now.
