I am trying to install Adobe Acrobat Professional 6.0 on a Windows 2000
machine with SP4. The installation will get to about 95% done, then a blue screen comes up referencing a .DLL file. I moved the .DLL file to a different folder and tried the installation again, but now I get a message saying I have a wrong serial number. I have reentered the serial number on the CD many times, but it still says it is wrong. Is there a registry key or file I can delete to get around the serial number issue? Any idea why the ..DLL file would cause a problem? Thanks in advance. J |

OK, gotta ask the obvious when I see a request to "get around the serial
number". Is this a legit purchased type install attempt? If so, what does Adobe have to say on the matter? There are THOUSANDS of possible DLL files that could cause all sorts of problems, issues, and interactions. Please start again with the exact error message, and then it's likely someone can help you with appropriate advice. BTW, when you receive an error message about a DLL file, the idea is NOT to delete or move the DLL file! Those are system library files, and they are needed to have your system work properly; in fact, it's very possible that moving the DLL file is what's keeping you from completing the registration. Put the DLL file back where it was, and then post the *complete* error on this thread (or on an Adobe support group.) |

Love this group, learning a lot. Mike thanks for the info on PDF suite, I
wasn't the one originally looking for the free PDF conversions, but it will come in handy, thanks again. If anyone is still watching this post...I have PDF995 and Cute's PDF writer (via printing in Word). Neither will convert a hyperlink in Word to a working link in the PDF document. I have used a free online PDF converter and I first had two hyperlinks in the document and only the 2nd one would convert to a working link in the PDF document. I added another hyperlink before these two and still, only the last hyperlink would convert.
Does anyone have a free PDF converter that WILL convert all hyperlinks in the Word document to the PDF document. Please email me at . Thanks |
