As someone who has the greatest difficulty understanding most things no
matter how simple they appear to others could someone explain in detail how
to go about the above
thanks in advance.

Make sure you print this out.

Open Outlook Express, and from the tool menu, click on 'Tools' and
scroll down to 'Accounts' and click.

Make sure that the 'Mail' tab is selected, and highlight (click on)
your mail account.

Over at the right, click on 'Properties'.

The 'General' tab will automatically be selected, and you change
your email address in the box that says: 'E-mail address'.

Press 'Apply', then 'OK', then 'Close'.

Please make sure you munge after (behind) the @ sign and with an
invalid domain.

Or just do this:

Get a Hotmail, Yahoo, or some other free service address. The Spam garbage
will go to them. They have great filtering for this. You can read the text
portions with your browser, and as long as you do not open or download the
attachments from the Spammers you will be okay. The browser will act as a
safety buffer for you.

You can then give out your service address, instead of your personal one.
This will allow you to receive the emails containing your answers. If you
want to engage in a constructive conversation with someone directly by
email, you can then privately give out your actual email address.

This is a good way to have control of what emails you will have.

Also, if you have any type of email address, even if it is one that has
never been used, the Spammers will eventually find it as long as it is
active. I have one that has not been active for about a year now. After
about a month after it was made, a number of spams started to come to it.

I don't know if anybody else is along for the ride, but I just got email from
GoDaddy saying that they're suing Verisign.

Agreed. To use their "free services" you get to read lots of ads. Make
it work for you also.

I don't get ads from Yahoo, at my freebies there. Opt out; don't
get...as far as I can see.
