I had the same problem, I resolved it by right clicking on the desktop,
selecting properties and then changing the screen saver to "none" then
go into the monitor settings and set the turn monitor off to Never, Set
hard drive power off to Never click apply and ok
try Defrag again
If you have a CRT monitor and are worried about no screen saver, simply
turn your monitor off during the defrag.
