Hi, I've got a situation here and wondered if any of you could shed
some light.

I noticed my cable modem's 'activity' light' flashing like crazy, when
i didn't have any 'internet accessing' programs running. I checked my
firewall logs and it appears that i'm getting repeated and steady
'echo requests' .... all from some 'videotron.ca' ... Here are a few
of the entries from the log, of who's trying to ping me....

ICMP Traffic n/a modemcable061.58-202-24.mtl.mc.videotron.ca Echo
Request/0 Inbound ICMP

ICMP Traffic n/a modemcable119.92-203-24.sherb.mc.videotron.ca Echo
Request/0 Inbound ICMP

ICMP Traffic n/a modemcable094.82-203-24.hull.mc.videotron.ca Echo
Request/0 Inbound ICMP

ICMP Traffic n/a town.&.country2.24.207.159.109.charter-stl.com Echo
Request/0 Inbound ICMP

It's always from 'videotron.ca' or 'charter stl.com' ....... and
this has been going on for 7 hours ............ although my firewall
says it's blocking connection.

I'm a little worried, is this some kind of hacker attempt, or some
spyware thing, or just what..... I ran Hijack This, Ad-Aware, Spybot,
did a full scan with my AV software.... and it's still happening.

If anyone can shed some light on this I'd really appreciate it, thank
you in advance.

Susan

This happens occasionally, just ignore it.
I've been pinged over 500 times today.
