Backing Up Files--Again

Dell is replacing my complete system (tower) for my new Dell Dimension 4600
with Windows XP.
I don't want to print everything again as I did just a few days ago when
Dell reinstalled Win. XP,
so I need to know if I can back up my complete system on my DVD/RW drive.
I'd appreciate any
info on using the DVD/RW for the first time.
