XForms: customized appearance for controls

Hi,

In XForms, each control element has an appearance attribute. It has a
few pre-defined values (full, compact, minimal). My understanding is
that the interpretation of these appearance values is determined by the
browser (or other rendering agent). So I basically cannot control the
look and feel of control.

We currently use some style information and even JavaScript to give a
control a desired look in HTML. So I am wondering if that can be
integrated into XForms. In other words, does XForms allow author to
have customized look of the controls?

Thanks in advance!

Xiao Ma
