I have a select box with a fixed width (to prevent it from ruining the
page layout). Viewing the page in Firefox or Netscape, when I click on
my select box it automatically enlarges its width, so that the longer
options inside be visible too. After selecting my option, the box
reverts to the initial width. I need a similar behaviour on Internet
Explorer, or a workaround. Currently, in IE the select box's width
remains fixed when I click on it, and the longer options are truncated.

Did you confront a similar problem?
