OT : desktop web server
A bit off topic but cant find a relevant group ...
I have a spare pc at home that I want to setup as a web server. I am only fussed about myself being able to access across my home network, and I only want to try it as its something to do and new to learn. Can anyone point me in the right direction ? I use Bullet FTP server to create an FTP server which is dead easy, is there an equivalent app that does tha same for a web server for example ? Thanks just wanting to learn something different Simon wannabee |

Download phphome (google for it or go to http://sourceforge.net/projects/phphome/ ). Takes about 10 minutes to install and leaves you with an apache server, php and mysql, all preconfigured. |

Just about that simple. Now just as easy as the other simple web servers. |
