is put over a (a slightly bigger) .jpg or .gif file?

If you feel that any of the above is incorrect,
inappropriate or offensive in any way,

you could always RTFM or:

tools > internet options > advanced > multimedia > [ ] enable image
toolbar

let me know if any of the words are too big for you.

Don't use IE6. Or configure IE6 not to display it.

Remember that your visitors who do use IE6 will be used to this
toolbar and may even want to use it, so removing it isn't very
user-friendly.

There are two ways to remove it:
1. <meta http-equiv="imagetoolbar" content="no">
2. (won't validate) Add galleryimg="no" to the <img> element.
(Obviously galleryimg="yes" can be used to get the toolbar back if
you've switched it off for the whole page the meta tag.)

don't **** around with the visitors browser, if you don't want it then
change _your_ browser settings.

Add this in your <head> :

<meta http-equiv="imagetoolbar" content="no" />

Twit.

The OP wasn't specific. This being a HTML writers forum, I would have
assumed he meant "via my page", not from the browser itself.

<meta http-equiv="imagetoolbar" content="no" />

Why is that ****ing around? Better not change any fonts either then!
Leave everything at default. I think the only one ****ing around here is
you

its part of the GUI, not part of the page. the author can do whatever
they like on the canvas area to **** with the visitor but the rest they
should leave alone because _it does_ cause people to leave and never
return.

i always recommend only specifying the generic family so the author gets
the look they want but the visitor gets their preferred font for that
family.
