how to control location of images on a webpage ?

I have to make a webpage with lots of clickable images.
I use Word 2000 as html editor - which may not be the best but I'm used to
it and do not have time now to learn other editors.
I try to arrange the images on rows of 3 images.
I arrange them in Word (webpage creation) with 3 tabs and I try to keep each
line or row as short as possible in order to avoid that the 3rd image would
exceed the right margin of the webpage.
I also reduce each image to 5cm by 5 cm again to exceed overflow on the
right.
In Word this looks perfect.
Still I do not succeed in controlling at all the result in Explorer !!
Once I get a nice page with 3 images per row - the next time there will be 2
images on the first row, the next row one image in the center and the next
line maybe one image on the left .....

How can I control this ???????

and how can I understand the logic of Explorer when opening a webpage.

Is there a good help file on the web (preferably in Dutch) which explains
this mystery ??

It is 17.00 in belgium and I should be ready for tomorrow

and for the moment all i am doing is "trial and error" in Word 2000

Can somebodey help ?

But time to ask here? What does that say about your character?
Please learn html.

That Word2000 does some HTML is a terrible accident.

Why? On resolution 640 width, 2 is ok, while on 1200 res, even 5 is ok!

Yes, DO NOT use 'Word'.

It carries so much HTML mark-up, than any pages you publsih will take so long to download, that
folks won't bother to look at them anyway, so it'll be a total waste of time and effort on your part

If you're used to working with word, get hold of a copy of 'Frontpage' and that works similarly, Not
'perfect' but much better :~)

Steve.

Too add to Steve's suggestion?
If you happen to acquire FP?
MAKE SURE that you do NOT copy and paste from Word to FP, rather from Word
to NotePad to FP.
