How about using something like this.
<h1 class"header>
<h1 class"heading">

..header {
color : #000000;
font-family : cursive;
font-size : 200%;
margin-bottom : 1px;
margin-top : 1px;
}

..heading {
color : #0000FF;
margin-bottom : 5px;
margin-top : 5px;
}

Just dealing with the top 2 lines for now.

It looks like you want something like:

<h1><span class="siteheading">Pollywog Handicrafts of Bangladesh</span><br>
<span class="pageheading">Pollywog Animals and Birds</span></h1>

with appropriate styling.

He doesn't think it will trick search engines in to giving him a higher
ranking.

Isn't it nice when people start a new thread to continue an existing
conversation, but fail to reference the origional?

The second line is different on each page whereas the top stays the same. Top line
is an include. Think it's best to go with <h1> & <h2>. It's just that Pollywog on
the top line is an image.

Thanks to all for your input.

Given the content on the page as viewed by an SE spider or, to quote,
lynx[1] I don't think search engine ranking is really an issue here

Cheers
Richard.

Your site logo? Don't put that in a H1, that's silly.

<div id="brand">
<img src="logo.gif" alt="Pollywog">
</div>

<h1>Something about birds</h1>

Your right except for the word Pollywog as most visitors have bought from them in
person & are familiar with the name. Now it's about #8 on google.
