I am sure they are forever in your debt....

I am sure if you write them, telling them of your dilemma, they will
change.

In spite of your sarcasm, I tend to agree with you on sites such as barbie
and cartoon network... What I fail to understand is why an automotive
manufacturer, in a highly competitive business which spends
millions/billions of dollars in advertising, would have a website that
shuts out a multitude of potential 20-30k dollar customers... I find this
particularly confusing with Subaru which is extremely customer service
oriented... Perhaps you could enlighten my as to what I'm missing...

They obviously have decided that if you take the total number of people
that would use the site if it were plain generic HTML, is LESS than the
number of people that use it with the flash. If enough people bitch and
moan, and complain about it, then they may change. Which is fine if
they do.

A company has to decide what percentage of their page is information,
what percent is for entertainment, and what part is e-commerce? Then
you try to decide what will you loose vs. what will you gain by using
different technologies.

LOL, don't ever try to go into business - oh! looks like you already have
and with a website that doesn't appear to work fully in any browser.

Speaking of which, My son is performing stand-up at the Stardust Casino
on the 30th and 31st of October (in the Wayne Newton Theater). Not sure
what the price is as I am getting in for free. But if you want to meet
the infamous Whitecrest, just stop in either night. I will be with my
son after his act.

But I digress, The web site is not a business. And the company I do
work for has more work that we could ever hope for. Because everyone
seems to be leaning in the "what can we give broad band users" mode, and
it pays very well to know how to do the pizzazz.
