hi i made i site and is runnung smut but to be more secure which
file or directory need to be password protect ??? any info what to do
???

Maybe your server isn't Apache? Maybe it is but .htaccess is disabled in
httpd.conf?

Nope, it's definately Apache 2.0.46 [to be exact] and I checked the
httpd.conf file for the line regarding htaccess and it's not commented out
or anything...

I'm on 2.4.47 myself. Post the contents of .htaccess and a sample password
file (and tell me where they are located -- full file paths) and I'll see
if I can spot what you're doing wrong.

Sorry. Meant 2.0.47. Latest version is the 2.1.x branch, but that is
unstable right now.
