EN-522 Senior Software Developer (Server App. Software) - Staff -
Irvine, CA

The leading developer of software for Location Based Services (LBS) and
mobile workforce management has an immediate opportunity in Irvine for
a Senior Software Developer. This is a position with tremendous growth
potential. Expert level candidates only, please.
You will have a direct impact on the design and development of the
server-side of the company's core products, including existing and new
location-based applications and services. You will help design
solutions, make recommendations and participate in design reviews. You
will translate requirements into functional specifications and
schedules, and will work cooperatively and effectively with other
developers, product management and QA to deliver products according to
specification and schedule. Excellent written and verbal communication
skills are required.
Requirements:
o. 5+ years hands-on development experience in a commercial software
server development environment.
o. Experience with all phases of product development lifecycle,
including requirements definition, specifications, development, test,
product release and sustaining engineering.
o. Extensive experience in both C and C++ (Required) On a scale of 1 -
10 where 10 is high, where is just your C coding ability?
o. Deep knowledge of Oracle or Postgres (Required)
o. Deep knowledge of UNIX operating systems including Solaris, and
Linux for development and basic administration. (Required)
o. Deep understanding of best practices in server application security
and TCP/IP development. (Required)
o. Strong working knowledge of XML, threads, and debugging practices.
(Required)
o. Experience in one of the following: Tcl, Perl, Python, ML, LISP,
HASKELL, PHP, Javascript, bash/sh is a plus
o. Experience with FreeBSD is a plus.
o. Experience with PL/SQL is a plus.
o. Desire to engage in and provide project leadership over extremely
challenging assignments.
o. Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or related field.
