Setting variables in JSP from Tag Library

Dear all,

Is it possible to set a page scope variable for JSP page
from tag library?

What I want to do is to say

<tag:command some_attrs... to="FOO"/>

and later use the variable A in the same JSP page.

FOO = <%= FOO %>

Can it be done?
