The problem troubleshooting this is the intermittent nature of it. I
would suggest running in Safe Mode to see f an extension or theme is
causing it, but a week is a long time to run in safe mode.

I've never used the Gmail notifier, but since that's the only thing
displaying, try disabling it, and run for a while.
