Treeview Target opening new page in 2.0

In ASP.Net 1.0/1.1 "targeting" a selection in a treeview to an iframe worked
just fine. What is the problem with 2.0? I have tried the same functionality
using a layer "div" and it deosn't work. Also, if I want to open an outside
website within the contentplaceholder of the masterpage without a popup page
that does not include the masterpage content, how do I do that?
