Directory.Delete: behavior changed? Restart AppDomain!

On ASPNET 2.0 when I call Directory.Delete to delete any sub-directory
(ps: "MyDirectory") the appdomain is restarted and all sessions are
lost, but on ASPNET 1.1 the appdomain doesn't restart.

I have a web app (aspx) that call a method on a web service (asmx).
This web service delete some directories. So on ASPNET 1.1 it's works
well, but on ASPNET 2.0 the web service appdomain is restarted.

Anybody knows something about this change of behavior?
