Im currently trying out Thunderbird and am so far converted. Though It
has one annoying feature. Using the password manager requires a random
input of the master password every so often. The trouble is i find it
requests this too often and becomes annoying.

Is there any way to reduce the frequency of master password check?

Um, dont use one? <g>

The frequency of checks is set up in
Firefox-->Preferences-->Advanced-->Saved Passwords <Master Password>

checking the frequency of when it is asked to 'first time it is
required' will result in only having to enter it once per session, i.e.
you enter it once when you start up, and then never again until the next
time you start the program.

the when required setting will ask you for the password everytime it is
required

the time check component will only ask you every so often

sorry, the above is the mac route
for Windows use
Tools-->Options-->Advanced-->Saved Passwords <Master Password>
for Linux use
Edit-->Preferences-->Advanced-->Saved Passwords <Master Password>

oh, and the difference in paths is mandated by each OS maker
