Can anyone tell me the trick to opening .pdf files in Firefox?

When ever I click on a link for one I get a blank grey page that says
done at the bottom.

Look in Tools > Options > Downloads > File types
I have "PDF Adobe Acrobat Document Open with ArcoExch"

Highlight then "change action" to set this.
