UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME

When I start my computer I get this blue screen message. STOP: 0X000000ED (0X85B3DC08, 0XC0000032, 0X00000000, 0X00000000)
Do I need to replace the hard drive?
I dont have the recovory CD or anything discs.
If possable I would like to save some programs that are on the computer.
Im running Windows XP Pro on a MOTOROLA ML900
