howto allow remote users

hello everyone,

i have a asp.net app with forms authentication
i setup an unsecure sub folder and allowed anonymouse users
so they wouldn't have to login to view those pages
the remote users used to be able to access these unsecured pages

then one day they couldn't
does anyone have a list of reasons this might have happened
