Floating-point Xilinx or Opencores?
Wondering if anyone's done any work comparing the opencores floating-point cores to Xilinx's?
On the surface the functionality appears to be similar, apart from opencores claims 100% IEEE754 compliant while the Xilinx versions don't support denormalized numbers. And I'm not sure yet how customizable the opencores version is.
But specifically i'm wondering about implementation efficiency; resource usage and speed comparisons, success on different FPGA's....etc?
Anyone know of any comparisons having been done or know any more about the opencores versions?
