Given that it refers to grounds, the signalling pins will be high (ie
positive). It'll only take 10 seconds with a multimeter to confirm
whether high is fault or normal - just test the mains fail pin whilst
turning off the supply.

Use the XP functionality - it works well. The RUPS software is pretty
old (well pre-XP) and may give issues running alongside other apps.
