Start issue with laptop

Hello, just wondering if any one out there may be able to help with this issue.
I have a Acer laptop. After it has been shut down for a few hours I am unable to start with one press of the start button. I need to press the start button approximately 50 times in rapid progression and then it will start normally.
Any help would be appreciated. Many thanks
