Using the paper clip is not recommended as a daily (several times daily) measure. It stresses the mechanics of the drive. Have you tried using the software "eject" command (it is somewhere on your system/in your CD burner software/etc., you'll find it if you look for it) ? A new drive is about $15 - a better (older) drive is $3-$5 at a garage sale. Use slower speeds for burning and don't skimp, get quality media - TDK, Fuji, Taiyo Yuden (just a little relevant advcie ;-) -- Any mental activity is easy if it need not be subjected to reality. |
