How interesting... Down that page a bit is a link:
"You can _refer_here_ for the current list of available fonts"
which I clicked.

Using my real UA:
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.0.19) Gecko/2010040119
Ubuntu/8.04 (Hardy) Firefox/3.0.19
I am delivered to a page:
http://code.google.com/webfonts/unsupported
"We're sorry, but your browser is not supported by the Google Font API.
To browse the fonts in the Google font directory please switch to a more
modern browser." and it goes on to say Firefox is recommended.

Then I used the UA switcher to change my UA string to:
Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1)
and it worked. It also works when my UA string is:
Borgzilla/31.0 (X11;U;Linux i686;en-US;rv:31.0) Resistance is futile

3.0.19, as I said.

This is true, but I am in no hurry. <g>

Well I have upgraded[1] one of my two servers to 10.04 with no problems.
I have the other server and my wife's desktop to do and will use the
same method. Grub2 is a bit strange and I wish they would *document*
Upstart! I'll let you know how the desktop goes...

[1]Clean install on another drive and move home and custom configs over.

What browsers are supported?
The Google Font API is compatible with the following browsers:
Google Chrome: version 4.249.4+
Mozilla Firefox: version: 3.5+
Apple Safari: version 3.1+
Microsoft Internet Explorer: version 6+
"
FAQ: What browsers are supported?
http://code.google.com/intl/fr/apis/...sers_Supported

I see no reason, none whatsoever, as to why Konqueror 4.4 is not a
supported browser and listed as such.

The fact that they support IE6 is also rather odd, unjustifiable as
google officially dropped support for IE6 as stated here:

Modern browsers for modern applications, January 29, 2010
http://googleenterprise.blogspot.com...lications.html

Interesting. (I had seen those pages.) Makes me wonder why their browser
sniffer rejected my Firefox 3.0.19 and accepted "Borgzilla..." :-)

Apparently, if they don't recognize a 'browser' they accept it.
