SmtpClient and Mail Servers
 
There is nothing Exchange or Microsoft specific about the
System.Net.Mail.SmtpClient class is there? It should work with any
mail server that uses SMTP regardless of platform right?

SMTP is a standard, you can use SmtpClient for all SMTP-enabled servers
