70-620 exam
Greetings from Australia. I am very impressed with the MS Press Training
Guide for this exam. The authors (Orin Thomas and Ina Maclean) have done a great job. This book is far in front of the 2 Que Exam Cram books I have seen. (OK, maybe they are for a different audience.) However, I found it difficult to locate the pages for the book's errata on the MS web site. Maybe I have an early printing but there are some 9 printed pages of errors/comments that apply to this text. (The Que books are also littered with serious errors/omissions.) As we know there are very significant changes to Vista brought about when SP1 was released. Because of the differences between Vista as originally released and SP1, I found it necessary to install the original release of Vista in a virtual machine. No one should now be using the original Vista! Since it would be relatively easy to change the item bank of exam questions to accommodate SP1 I wonder why this has not been done. Please address any replies to the news group. My email address is false. Bert |
Re: 70-620 exam
Hi Bert,
Because of how it is done changing cert exams is a long and somewhat expensive undertaking. It does get done from time to time, but the public is not informed unless the Objective Domain is changed significantly. However these changes are seldom done to coincide with Service Packs. I am glad you liked the MS-Press book... my understanding of the audiences is that when writing a book for certification exam prep you should be writing to the majority of candidates. Good luck with the exam!
