Exam Questions
Hi Guys & Girls,
I am in the process of studying for my MCDST and will take the exam in the next 10 days. I'm a bit concerned about the exam question though. I have the micosoft official study books (for 70-271 & 272) however I seem to be ok with the questions in the book, but the question in the measureup CD seem to be a lot harder (with multiple choice process options) which I seem to struggle with. Are the questions in the exams more towards the exams questions in the book or on the CD? I'm a bit concerend about the difference in my ability, although I think it might just be exam practice that I need. |
RE: Exam Questions
Hi FMonster,
In my experience the Readiness Review Suites are designed to be harder. When I say that understand that I am not being flippant, it is just the way it is. In Montreal I run a study group for MCSE courses based on the MS Press Self-Study books, and when we finished the module for 070-290 we told everyone to go home and take the Readiness Review Practice Exams. We did a survey, and of 11 people who passed the exam, not one of them scored higher than 60% on the Practice Exam. It was infuriating to me - it also gave me pause about my mastery of the subject - that before I took my MCDST exams earlier this week I would score as high as 80% and as low as 67% on the Practice Exams. I was worried that it was a borderline pass at best (according to the RR I failed them all). However I got to the exams and scored 883 and 918 respectively - so either Microsoft has a higher opinion of my abilities than Measure Up, else the Practice Tests are designed to really make you work. Our theory is they are as hard as they are so you will get to the exam and pass. Thinking about it, I would rather fail the Practice Exams (which forces me to redo them over and over, even though it never passes me!) and then pass the real exam, rather than have the Practice Exam tell me how good I am, and I fail the real deal. I am sure most of us would agree. Good luck and let us know how it goes! M -- MDG, MCT MCSA (2003), MCSA (2000), MCDST. RE: Exam Questions
Hello,
I in the process in studying for my MCP Certification. Since there are a lot of certifications out there for Microsoft, I would like to know what credential I can study for to obtain an entry-level help desk position to start my IT career. Is the MCDST certification is the best one to study for? I brought a book already 70-271 is the book it need to get started on my studies? Thanks for your response. -- Bruce Wms "Montreal MCT" wrote: > Hi FMonster, > > In my experience the Readiness Review Suites are designed to be harder. > When I say that understand that I am not being flippant, it is just the way > it is. RE: Exam Questions
Hi BW64,
I just took the MCDST exams this week and consider them to be the two easiet exams I have seen in the MCP program (with the possible exception of the original 070-282 exam). As they deal with Windows XP and applications chances are it is material you have already touched upon, so it will not be as long a process as many other certs. Good luck! RE: Exam Questions
Hi. I am having the same issue. I do very well (100%) with the book, and in
the mid 80s with the readiness review practice exams. It does not help that some of the questions are incorrect. I have been studying for 8 weeks now, and think I am ready, then I take the readiness review test, and change my mind. Are there other places that I can get legal tests to practice with? I see many sites, but do not know which are illegal practice test and which are not. Thank-you! -- SkM "Montreal MCT" wrote: > Hi FMonster, > > In my experience the Readiness Review Suites are designed to be harder. > When I say that understand that I am not being flippant, it is just the way > it is. RE: Exam Questions
Hi Sandy,
In general you get what you pay for, which is why I would not trust any site that is giving them away for free. As I always suggest go to your local computer book seller and buy the Self-Paced Training books from Microsoft Press. They come with the Readiness Review Suites which for my money are the best practice exams I've ever needed! Mitch -- MDG, MCT MCSA (2003), MCSA (2000), MCDST. RE: Exam Questions
Thank-you, I have scheduled the test for Friday, and spent the weekend
reviewing the areas in the review suite that I did not do well on. I'll let you know how I do, but I feel good about it so I must be ready. -- SkM "Montreal MCT" wrote: > Hi Sandy, > > In general you get what you pay for, which is why I would not trust any site > that is giving them away for free. > > As I always suggest go to your local computer book seller and buy the > Self-Paced Training books from Microsoft Press. RE: Exam Questions
Hey Montreal,
Passed the 70-271 today with a score of 766. Was a bit annoyed at my score as felt I could have done better but to be honest there were a few things they asked me that were not in the book, so I take the pass. Thanks for your advice. On to 70-272 now (I heard it's a bit easier?) FMonster.
