OT: UK Only - How to obtain a Job at PC World as a Repair Technician
I am a qualified MCDST but have never worked in the IT industry although I
am currently employed. I am also currently studying for my A+ certification and hope to complete this by the end of June. I had hoped that MCDST would have been the beginning of a new career but in this overcrowded profession my lack of real world experience hasn't helped in my search for employment and I am still looking. I would be interested in working for PC World as a repair technician and had hoped to find information on their website concerning the entry requirements and how to apply but I couldn't find any. If there is anyone on this newsgroup who works for PC World I would be glad for any information that you can give. Thanks. Robert |

Have a look at the job sites http://www.cwjobs.co.uk/ and http://www.jobsite.co.uk as they do have entry level positions advertised on there from time to time. Another possible avenue might be to approach the local independent support companies (ie those who advertise in the local paper) and while most tend to be one man bands, one of them might be looking to take on a trainee if only for evening work (so you can keep your current job). Some of them do most of their work in the evening as that is when most people are at home! Good luck. Dave. |
