Raw values and exposure values

Dear ng,

If I have a set of raw values, each 125 dn apart, and a signal to
noise ratio for each of those values, is it correct to plot the base 2
logarithm of both dn and snr to show how the signal to noise ratio
changes for each additional step of exposure?
