Heard of SignUpSystem? I'm usually the one who warns all my friends about
scams which I can usually smell a mile away. Actually I did smell this one
but decided to try it anyway. As you all must know by now, membership for
$24 - $40, paid by credit card, simply points you to a simple site where
there are bundles of software which can be obtained freely elsewhere. If
you had been led there by a fantastic price on other software, your recourse
is to then be allowed to use torrent or search software, which can be
obtained freely anyway, to find it. Then you're simply left to your own
devices to search for what you want, and to deal with your frustration if
you can't find it, and with your own conscience it's not freeware or
shareware. I think I just I paid $24 for my past sins. Ah well. Have to
let bygones be bye-byes. (I did read the license agreement subsequently and
they're not claiming to be offering more than they are; but as far as I'm
concerned it's still a scam, since they know few people read it. It's the
ads that suck you in).
My question, tho', is, I'm wondering if they also steal your credit card
info. and whether the payment process is really secure? Would like to know
if I should cancel my credit card. Any experiences anyone?
