does anybody know how to email xml files using MIME/SMTP?

The same way you email any other file using MIME over SMTP.

1. Open "Compose" or "Send new message" in your mailer
2. Type the address
3. Type the message
4. Click on "Attach"
5. Click on the XML file
6. Click "Send"

Or did you mean how to send it as an attachment from within a script?
