It would help if you would explain in details which Network you are trying
to connect to.
The second screen does not appear because it seems that you are not
connecting to any Network that is under you capacity to configure.

If every thing checks out make sure that, you have a Wireless Network Icon
in the tray Bar, http://www.ezlan.net/faq#icon_bar
To add a Network the Wireless Card has to work and the Networks has to be
available first to see available. Click on the Wireless Tray Bar Icon and
click on View Wireless Networks, click on your Network and than look again
at the Preferred Networks.
