has just released a new set of drivers for their audio chipstets embedded in
many popular motherboards and notebooks.

Just as a followup to this, these are RealTek's AC'97 drivers I was hoping
would make my DELL AC'97 soundcard work but they did not.

No surprises there as I then worked out I have an Intel AC'97 chipset.

If, like me, you have a DELL with an Intel chipset AC'97 which appears not
to work initially, you may be better off than you think.

XP x64 may not recognise it but the drivers are included in XP x64. If you
force installation of the Intel AC'97 driver it does appear to work.

If anyone has problems with this, drop me a line...
