task manager processes - how do i get rid of some of them permanently
When ever I open internet explorer there is a major slowdown (am running a
cable modem for internet access). I have found that by opening up task manager and stopping 3 of the processes it works well for awhile but then those processes come back. AVG has identified these as Trojan horse downloader generic and says they deleted the files but they keep coming back. they are opdo.exe , dexplorer.exe , and !update.exe . is there any way to get rid of these so they do not come back. thanks in advance -- |

Best luck Paul. |

Process Explorer may help you find the process. You right-click on a process in the Upper Pane and select Properties and PE will tell you everything about the running process. You go to Menu/View/Show Lower Pane/Show all DLL(s) and PE will show you everything that's running with a process. You can right-click in the Lower Pane too. http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/fil...d,23780,00.asp PE and other tools you can used are discussed in the link below. Long http://www.windowsecurity.com/articl...vironment.html Short http://tinyurl.com/klw1 You may spot something. Duane :) |
