Cannot stop FF2.0 upgrade from checking for new AddOns

I just upgraded from 1.508 to FF 2.0

The Browser works as expected, BUT

I cannot stop FF2.0 from checking for upgrads of AddOns when it
"first" runs.

Is there am easy solution? I already removed the check from
Advanced/Update/Installed Add-Ons.
