partition

Hi,
I wanna know if its possible to make a partition before formatting my
harddisk.. I have a lot of music on my computer and i would like to move it
to another partition so i can safely format my C: I tried Partition Magic 7
(demo) but I couldn't make it happen

It is easy to do; one can use FDISK or PartitionMagic.
Read the litter-ature concerning the demo version and see if that is
one of its limits.

You can't format a HD without partition(s).
