I have an approximate 2.4 GB .avi file on my hard drive that I would like to
burn to a DVD disk so that I can mail a copy to my daughter.

I have a Celeron 1.8 GHz system running XP home and I have a DVD burner and
Nero 5.X. I tried to use Nero to create a "video disk" and after about 20
minutes got a message that the "burn process failed".

Nero 6 has support for DVD burning. Converting the files could take a fair
time on a celeron though.
