Compaq doesn't detect pci card
 

Hello!
I have a problem with installing PCI sound card (chipset CMI 8738). My
computer is Compaq Deskpro 2000 (Pentium MMX 200Mhz). I'm sure that the
hardware is OK. The computer does not detect the new device.
Could anyone help me, please ?

try running the add new hardware wizard? Try a different PCI slot? That's a
pretty old PC, and it's support of newer PCI devices may be lacking. And
then it's also a Compaq, which makes things worse.

Thank you for reply but
add new hardware wizard - no results,
different PCI slot - no results.
I don't like Compaq... :-((((
