It's time to take back this group from the spammers

I'm sure they'll object and insist that they're not spamming, but that's
exactly what they're doing. Doesn't matter if it's "on-topic" or not.

Any group who's charter doesn't specifically permit advertising
shouldn't ignore blatant spam or the kind of self-promoting "review"
notices that are being posted constantly by a few individuals who
contribute nothing and only use this group to enrich themselves.

At least it's on topic. I'd much rather see the political crap go away.

Very good point. I hardly even pay attention to current events, since
anytime something happens, the trolls post it here, with some sort
of spin.

What's sad is, it's not really less informative than regular media.

Anyway, let's try to actually use this group for what it was chartered for.

Yeah, as somebody who has been an active participant in this group for a
long time, I have to say I totally disagree with you. I wish the people
who posted reviews posted them on the group, instead of providing links
to their web sites. But I'd rather have the links than nothing at all. I
have found many of these reviews to be valuable information to help me
decide whether or not to buy a DVD.

Sorry you don't like it, but you don't have to read it. Skip over those
headers and move on.
