Pioneer 106D question?

I got a true Pioneer 106D with firmware rev. 1.08.
Do you know if the firmware patch (DVR-106D v1.07 - RPC-1 + 2xDVD-R +
12xRip.zip) can be used on the Pioneer rev.1.08 firmware?.
The readme file on the patch mention rev. 1.07. I just want to make sure if
this is still O.K. before I go ahead and flash the firmware.

Thank you

This is a good site to check for Pioneer patches.

I would urge you to avoid flashing and leave things as they are. I've flashed mine to
1.07 and have burnt 20-25% coasters using Ritek G04s. Neither do I notice any difference
in rip speed.

Sorry (my brain is dying too) I should have said that my 106 (firmware 1.05) functioned
flawlessly until I flashed up to 1.07 (yes you may well ask why I bothered!). It's
possible that my problems, which seem to have begun with the new firmware, are all mere
coincidence but it's a little unsettling anyway.

Re: Pioneer 106D question?

Thank you for the clarification. I decided that until I hear from somebody
who has actually apply the 1.07 patch to the 1.08 firmware with success, I
will not be flashing. I don't want to take any chances.
Thanks
