What should I do? |
Re: My Doom virus?
Which online scanner did you use?
Did you have Thunderbird open at the time of the scan? Try a second/third oppinion, with your browser CLOSED. http://housecall.trendmicro.com/hous...start_corp.asp http://www.kaspersky.com/scanforvirus http://www3.ca.com/virusinfo/virusscan.aspx http://security.symantec.com/sscv6/default.asp http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/activescan.asp http://us.mcafee.com/root/mfs/default.asp On Tue, 14 Dec 2004 13:23:38 +0000, in <23qtr0h47gaputfhe20pdth82blqb346a1@4ax.com> Jane scrawled: >I ran an online virus scanner with the following results: > > >C:\Documents and Settings\name\Application >Data\Thunderbird\Profiles\default.0kj\Mail\pop.ti scali.co-1.uk\Inbox->(part0146:file.zip)->FILE.EXE >- Win32/Mydoom.O@mm -> Infected > >C:\Documents and Settings\name\Application >Data\Thunderbird\Profiles\default.0kj\Mail\pop.ti scali.co-1.uk\Trash->(part0144:file.zip)->FILE.EXE >- Win32/Mydoom.O@mm -> Infected > >C:\Documents and Settings\name\Local >Settings\Temp\THI777.tmp\localNrd.cab->polall1l.exe - >TrojanDownloader:Win32/Agent.AE -> Infected > >C:\temp\Installer2.exe - TrojanDropper:Win32/Delf -> Infected > >C:\WINDOWS\2_0_1browserhelper2.dll - TrojanClicker:Win32/Delf -> >Infected > >C:\WINDOWS\UnstSA2.exe - TrojanDropper:Win32/Delf.Z -> Infected > >C:\WINDOWS\system32\SearchBar\SearchBar.exe - >TrojanDownloader:Win32/VB.EU -> Infected > > > >the programme (RAV) didn't or couldn't clean them itself, I have tried >a number of programmes specifically to remove My Doom and other worms >but they say I'm not infected. >What should I do? -- Basic computer maintenance http://uk.geocities.com/personel44/maintenance.html |
the doomvirus is actullly joke
cant telll you how to do it Replace location to the location where you want the file to be This is not actually a virus but a practical joke. It will make your victim believe that his system is under seize and is infected. Remember you need to compile it only (.ie click on compile option ) and not run it(i.e click on run option). This will generate the .EXE file. Even though this is just a prank just be careful to whom you spread it as you could still get into minor trouble. |
