Word 2000
OS Windows XP Home
App Microsoft Word 2000 When I open a new document in Word the insertion point always appears in the bottom left hand corner of the document, which would be the first word on the last line, if the document was full of text. I cannot move this insertion point with the mouse or any of the other keys. If I type a complete line of text from this point the completed line of text goes on top of the first line and so on. I have carried out a full anti virus scan with Kaspersky, came up negative. Adaware, Spyblaster and Spybot installed and up to date. System restore did not solve the problem, neither did Word repair or a complete uninstall/reinstall of Word. No error messages have appeared. I have two accounts set up and the other account is NOT affected. As a novice that's as far as I am able to go so any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. MikeW |

Re: Word 2000
Perhaps the file creation template has become corrupted. Find and
delete the file named normal.dot. Word will create a new one next time you run the program. Re: Word 2000
Your question confuses me a little. You say 'new' document, then you say
'the line of text goes on top of the first line'. Assuming that this happens after you click File/New you need to either amend or make a new template for the offending template.
