Playing a local mpeg file from a local HTML file...

Hi guys,

I've got a problem... I'm developing a webpage on my computer and I
can't get the links to my MPEG movies to work. I want them to launch
in a Windows Media Player. This is my code...

<TD vAlign=top align=left><BR><A HREF="view_files/movie1.mpg"><IMG
SRC="view_files/movie1_logo.jpg" border="0"></A></TD>

I've checked code on other websites (running on webservers) and it's
the same. If I right click on the file and choose "save as" I can save
the file to another location on my hard drive so the link is true, but
when I click on the link Windows Media Player does not launch playing
the movie. Can someone give me some help with this.

Thanks in advance.
Lyndon.

CSS would really help you to trim that up a bit before you went live.

You really need a webserver on your PC to emulate what will happen on
the web. Of course, this is a web issue or your question would be
off-topic.

Well, the link isn't true. You're simply clicking on a file and moving
it. It has nothing to do with your HTML.

I'm completely out of my league here. I don't use a PC. But would
"view_files/movie1.mpg" be inappropriate for your PC. Doesn't Windows
use the "\" delimiter between files on your own PC?
